Investing in Women Leading Cancer Research

What is it like to move from academic research to pharma and then biotech? What are the career choices for scientists looking to transition into industry? And how does the culture of each enable a sustainable career path for women?

These are a few of the questions my guest Julia Sable and I talked about in our LIVE conversation.

Dr. Sable is the Director of CMC Project Management at a cutting-edge Cell Therapy company, engineering new medicines to treat patients with solid tumors. She spent 18 years in academic research, at Columbia University and Rockefeller University, before transitioning to industry.

This session originally aired on February 11, 2022—the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. Dr. Sable and I visited about her impressive career as a woman leading cancer research, and what the American Cancer Society is doing through the ResearcHERs campaign to make this career path viable for more women.
